Having a robust safety management system in place is the foundation for managing safety in the workplace. Every PCBU/employer has an obligation and a duty of care to their workers to provide a safe and healthy workplace.
Having your management systems audited enables you to ensure your safety management system is effective and complying with legislative requirements. It is a pro-active approach to safety management through measurement, evaluation and management review demonstrating that your organisation prioritises safety and safe systems of work.
Auditing is assessing the current level of compliance of an organisation with the mandatory standards. Workplace auditing can cover a wide range of assessments designed to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. Workplace audits can identify key areas that may need immediate attention and I will work with you to implement health and safety improvement plans and initiatives.
A typical audit will involve reviewing your existing documentation systems and processes, interviewing workers, inspecting the facility, equipment, conditions and controls. All of this allows me to evaluate existing management processes and practices to determine the degree of compliance and performance.
