WorkSafe OHS Essentials program

The OHS Essentials Program is a free safety consultation service, administered by WorkSafe but delivered by WorkSafe approved independent experienced and qualified OHS consultants.

We at OH&S Plus, are proud participants in the WorkSafe Victoria OHS Essentials Program servicing North East Victoria. 

Benefit from practical, tailored safety advice from an independent OHS consultant. The confidential services provided under the Program are fully independent of WorkSafe. Nothing is reported back to WorkSafe. 

Our principal consultant, Gail Mathews will come to your workplace on 3 separate occasions over a 12 month period to help identify hazards and provide a practical safety action plan tailored to your business. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about your safety obligations and to receive some tailored advice on managing safety in your workplace.

• Up to 9 hours of free information, advice and assistance is available. 

Whilst the initial visit generally takes the longest, usually around 3-5 hours, with 2 more visits throughout the year. The follow-up consultation usually within 3 - 6 months after the initial visit and the 3rd and final visit generally between 9 – 12 months will focus on checking your progress against the action plan recommendations and providing additional support as needed.

 Previous program participants can re-apply after 3 years. 

Small and medium business with 59 or less employees and a WorkCover insurance policy

Sole traders with contractors may be eligible but must hold a WorkCover insurance policy

Farmers – Victorian Farmers do not need a WorkCover insurance policy to be eligible for the OHS Essentials program. If you are a farmer please reach out and we can step you through the application process.
